About Terry Johnson, Owner and Operator, CPT

Terrace Johnson’s personal training certification with AAAI began 22 years ago with his passion for physical fitness and helping others to get healthy. It led him to open Meriden’s first and only personal training studio in 2007. In 2010, he opened a second location in Wallingford.

Throughout his career, he has worked with thousands of people helping them to reach their goals and to improve their quality of life. Body Temple Fitness Personal Training Studio caters to clients of all ages.

Many of the clients at Body Temple Fitness are families! Terrace likes to say, "I have a heart for healthy strong families." Having a big family himself, and having more families join Body Temple Fitness, was another reason he opened his Wallingford location.

To accommodate the growing client list, more space was needed, and the new Body Temple Fitness became a "Family Fun Fitness Facility." Terry continues to promote a healthy community by integrating fitness classes, offering nutritional counseling (check out the Juice Bar!), and staffing knowledgeable personal trainers and instructors to enrich and engage his clients.

Matt Newton

About Matt Newton

My name is Matt Newton, and I am from Middletown CT. Growing up, I was always playing sports and staying active. I started really getting into fitness while in high school. Once I began to realize all the benefits of it, I was hooked. For me, fitness became more than just working out. It turned into a lifestyle. I gained strength, more energy, bettered my mood, and found a healthy way to relieve stress. My new lifestyle sparked the passion that led me into my personal training career. It has become a passion of mine to help others attain their health and fitness goals so they can look and feel their best. "Do something today that your future self will thank you for."
Lucy Petrella

Lucy Petrella

I began my fitness journey in my senior years when I became a client at BTF. It has changed my life completely - increased physical stamina, medications dropped and lowered, increase in bone density, and a real zest for living life to its fullest! As a result of this life change, I became a personal trainer as a second career so that I could share this gift of life with anyone who is willing to make the commitment. Our bodies are amazing and will respond to our efforts - no matter our age or physical issues. During the two and a half years that I have been a trainer, I have seen amazing transformations in so many. Never let age prevent you from living your life to the fullest.
